MoreBy the time you purchase the superior, Tormek angle setting jig, and the Grizzly a accessory kit you are close to $300 for this tool but this is still a great value. My first uses of the grinder were for dressing an ax, and re sharpening a block plane blade. The ax is something to do hand held but you want a precise angle on the plane blade.
MoreThen I bought the Grizzly T10010 10" Wet Grinder Kit based on the reviews here. As a previous reviewer said all the jigs except the universal support work on the Grizzly. That is too bad because the Tormek universal support is much better than the Grizzly. As far as I can tell the Grizzly is working as it should, the stone is not cracked.

MoreGrizzly isn't a bad sharpener. When I received the sharpener all was fine but the stone was not NOT true. Had to spend 90 bucks for the truing tool from tormek and that fixed it right up. Wasn't expecting the extra cost but sure beats the 700 dollar Tormek that would need the stone true also.

More2011-4-20 Posted April 16, 2011. I have a Grizzly brand knife grinder. I honestly believe this grinder is a great buy for the money. One of the main complaints I have with it is the the flat platen which is somewhat cheap. I met a gentleman in Salt Lake who was running a pro sharpening service with nothing more than a Grizzly knife grinder.

More2011-12-21 I have a Grizzly. It was my first grinder, and like Robert, I ground a good number of blades on it. It will teach you about hand control since you don't have the luxury of slowing it down for finer/detail work. I still do the majority of my handle work on that machine (even though it is easy to burn delicate woods with how fast it runs).--nathan
More2020-5-24 I can’t wait until I have time to sharpen all of my chisels and even knives. The sharpening process is noticeably slower than even using a slow 1750rpm grinder because the Grizzly wet grinder is 110RPM. This took a little mental adjustment on my part. I have a VS Delta grinder (2000 - 3450) and it is faster for sure, but it does generate heat.
More2016-11-22 The Grizzly is a good grinder, and is the cheapest 2 X 72 you will find. It has a contact wheel, flat platen, and buffer. While it has it's drawbacks, it's hard to beat as a basic shop tool. I have a Hardcore 2 X 72, a Pheer 2 X 72, and the Grizzly. If my Grizzly broke down, I would immediately order another (and I have in the past.)
